Episode 18: Mother's Day

It has been a really long time since the Cosmic Potato crew has gotten together to give you guys a show. I’m truly sorry about that and I appreciate those of you that are coming back now that we’ve got a new episode for you to listen to.
We’ve been on hiatus for the past few weeks. If you frequent our Twitter feed or our Facebook page then you know that my mother has been battling cancer for a while now. Her fight as lasted almost two years now. She was placed in hospice care at the beginning of April and I went out of town to help take care of her. She passed away on April 22.

So, now that I’m back home and trying to get back to some facsimile of my normal life, I decided to dust off the microphone and get back to something that I love doing…talking to my friends and making Cosmic Potato.
My mom was this show’s number one fan. She listened to every episode, even if she had no clue what we were talking about. A week or so before she died I turned on her tablet because she wanted to look at Facebook. When I did, I found that it loaded directly to our latest episode and that made me smile.
So, as a tribute to her I decided that our first show back should be a Mother’s Day special. Especially since that holiday is less than a week away.  I called in Rick, Hoai-Tran, and Kristina to talk about the most memorable moms in film and television. But, since we’ve been out of touch for a while we first talked about Batman V. Superman, Daredevil season 2, the Star Wars: Rogue One trailer, the potential Punisher Netflix series, and the Supergirl/Flash crossover.
You can download this episode here or subscribe to us on iTunes and Stitcher. My email address is shawnwray@cosmicpotato.com. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter and we would love to hear from you. Tell us what you think of the show and who your favorite film and TV moms are.
