This week marks the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. To help celebrate I invited a very special guest to come on this episode of the show. Kristine M. Smith knew DeForest Kelley for more than half of her life. She shared a lot of phone calls, letters, and memories with him and his wife and she was sitting next to him when he passed away in 1999. In her new book, DeForest Kelley Up Close And Personal: A Harvest Of Memories From The Fan Who Knew Him Best, she tells a lot of those stories and gives us a picture of the man that we only knew as Dr. McCoy.
Every fan has a story. If you would like to be on The Prime Direction and tell the story of your fandom please feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please understand that there are a lot of people who want to be on the show so the list is long, but write you back as soon as possible.
And remember to leave us a rate and review wherever you download the show so that I can help more people find the podcast. And thank you for listening to The Prime Direction.
